About the Campaign

The 2024 Austin Peay State University SHAPE Faculty and Staff Campaign is a giving initiative designed specifically for APSU faculty and staff. We appreciate your efforts to shape our campus community with your time and talent, and now we ask you to also contribute to the University’s greatest needs in a variety of academic and athletic areas. Programs that will be supported through the SHAPE Campaign include scholarships, research funding, improved facilities and hands-on learning experiences to elevate the Austin Peay experience for students, faculty and staff.

FAQs

Why should I give?

The SHAPE campaign is focused on getting more faculty and staff involved in impacting student lives and the University, as well as celebrating how you are currently shaping the University with your time and talents. The advantage of a campaign like this is that you are not limited to giving to a specific area, program or scholarship. We ask that you choose a University area where you would like to see expansion, and give any amount to promote student success and University growth. This campaign will also give the University credibility with donors. Through your contributions, we are able to show the passion and excitement that our faculty and staff have for Austin Peay.

What type of APSU stories can be shared to include in campaign promotions? 

Any stories that illustrate how APSU faculty and staff shape the University and the lives of our students are perfect for our campaign promotions. Please send your stories to baggettp@apsu.edu.

Is there a minimum amount for gifts to the campaign? 

No. Any dollar amount will make an impact on our University programs.

How is my gift being used?

Your gift will be used to meet the greatest needs of the APSU area where you choose to give. Your generosity will directly impact student success. 

What areas can I give to?

You can give to any area of the University where you like to see an impact made. To view all areas, click the "Donate" button above. Under the "Designations" heading, click "View all Giving Opportunities."

Can I designate my gift to multiple areas?

Yes. We help make this process easier by enabling you to view many of our giving opportunities. Don't see something you would like to give to? Contact us for more information. 

Can I give through payroll deduction?

Yes. To better serve our campus community, employee giving can be done through payroll deduction. To set up your payroll deduction, click here. If you are already making gifts through payroll deduction, your gift will be counted when it is received between Jan. 1 and June 30, 2024. 

What are the benefits of giving online?

  • Maintaining control over your giving level and areas of support takes just a few clicks. 
  • Modifying, pausing, or stopping your giving can be easily accomplished without paperwork.  
  • Immediate gift receipts and a yearly gift letter are provided for your records. 

Can I give in memory or in honor of someone?

Yes. many people make gifts to APSU in memory of a loved one, in honor of a trusted colleague, or in appreciation of a beloved faculty member for the exceptional education they provided.

Is my gift tax deductible?

Yes. If you give through payroll deductions, those deductions made through Human Resources are taken after taxes. You will only receive tax credit for your monthly gift. You can now receive an automatic gift receipt for every deduction. If you give through our online giving form, you will automatically receive a tax receipt via email.

What are the different ways to give? 

You can give via payroll deduction, use the above "Donate" button or bring cash or a check made payable to the APSU Foundation to the University Advancement Office located at 318 College Street.

What is the payment schedule? 

You can setup a one-time gift, a monthly/biannually/yearly withdraw, or setup a large gift to be paid in installments.  

Are there fees with using this service?

No, there are no fees associated with using the service. 

Is my gift associated with any external charities, such as United Way?

No. All gifts made to APSU through the SHAPE Campaign will be used internally for student needs and University growth.

Who will know if I have made a gift?

Gift amounts are always confidential and will never be shared with anyone. You have the option to have your gift recognized/publicized by name only, or you can choose to remain anonymous.

Can I make a gift jointly with my spouse or partner?

Yes. You can indicate on the donation form that your gift is a joint gift. Please also provide the name of your spouse or partner via the form. If your spouse or partner also works at APSU, he/she/they will also receive credit for participation.

What if I leave APSU before my pledge is completed?

Your pledge is considered a good-faith intention; it is not considered a debt. We realize that personal circumstances can change. If you find you need to change your pledge, we encourage you to call the University Advancement Office to discuss it with us.
